Trixi the Merc (Uber Rare Cat)

Trixi the Merc is an Uber Rare Cat that can be obtained by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Best of the Best gacha event. She was added to BCTW and BCKR in Version 13.4, and BCEN in Version 13.6.

Strategy/Usage

In her Evolved Form specifically, she has rather high stats and fast attacks to boot. However, while her multi-hit attacks may come fast, they come with the drawback of each individual hit being relatively weak and thus hinder her effective DPS. Her stats are considerably better against her target traits, though even then, her meager range of 280 limits her abilities as a crowd-controller.

On that topic, her crowd-controlling performance is a mixed bag. Her freeze only sticks for a third of a second, which is far too short. While her attack cycle is fast enough to make this kind of freeze work, the 50% activation chance and time between attack cycles really hurt her unless she gets lucky with her freeze ability.

Finally, her immunities help her tank, as her HP stat is made more impressive with her Strong ability working against 3 traits. Slow, warp and curse are all nice immunities for a tanker. However, her 4 knockbacks can still limit her with high-DPS enemies who outrange her or otherwise avoid her freeze and her range means that she does not really benefit from frequently repositioning.

Appearance

• Normal Form: A smirking girl wearing a suit, jacket and a visor. The visor seems to be displaying some information on it and her jacket has a Cat face embedded into the left shoulder. Keeps her left hand in her pocket, only pulling it out to attack or when she's being knocked back. Wields a dull blue and green energy sword that is emitting sparks from its hilt. The sword's sheath hangs on her back. Attacks with a flurry of slashes, leaving behind trails that are the same colors as her sword's blade.
• Evolved Form: Now fully colored. Loses the visor. Her suit, sheath and sword's hilt take on a primarily grey palette with neon green accents and her jacket becomes a mix of yellow and black. The sword's blade and its trails now have a more vivid blue and the green has shifted to a much more defined shade of yellow. Some of the skin on her left hand now appears to have peeled off, revealing metal plating underneath.

Trivia

• Trixi the Merc technically has the fastest attack rate of all Cats, as the previous record-holder Catornado attacks three times in 18 frames, while she attacks 3 times in 17 frames.
• She and Bad Blaster Saki share similar hairstyles, Strong Against abilities (albeit only as a Talent in Saki's case) and Alien and Relic targets. Like many of the Dark Heroes, she also uses futuristic technology.
• MURANYASA is a reference to 16th-century swordsmith Muramasa and possibly NYASA, a parody of NASA first mentioned in Mission Control Mekako's description.
