Kasa Jizo versus Cameraman Cat[]

Following some well-meant criticism for my first sloppily made post, I’ll be doing another, fairer comparison that will consider all three forms of Kasa Jizo (due to him being an ultra soul and being relevant in all three of his forms) against the true form of Cameraman (his first two forms only serve to embarrass him due to his Single Target, and he is only relevant in true form).

Methodology[]

Right, for Cameraman Cat and Kasa Jizo, both work well in their various niches, can serve as good attackers outside their niches as well, being able to be used in a general lineup as well. However, Kasa Jizo cannot be used in 4-star SoL, or for that matter, any level with no Ubers restriction, causing him to lose value. Thus, for our methodology, we will use the usual, niche value, niche effectiveness and role effectiveness. For Kasa Jizo, he is a Midranger in Normal Form, while he is a nuker in the rest of his forms. While for Cameraman, he is a midranger. We can safely compare role effectiveness for these two units in their normal and true forms respectively, but subsequently for Kasa Jizo’s evolved and true form, he will gain more relevance than Cameraman Cat, as he can be used in cases outside of being a midranger.

Stats + Analysis[]

Stats will be compared at both Level 30 and Level 50. Unfortunately for Cameraman, at both Level 30 and 50, Kasa Jizo’s stats are much higher than his. At level 30, Kasa Jizo has ~15k HP, with Cameraman at a depressing ~10k. And at level 50, this trend continues as well for both health and attack. Cameraman’s only way of saving himself lies in his abilities. Firstly, he has the Strong against Floating ability, which is very good as it buffs both his health and his attack. His effective health against floating doubles, as well as having around 12k attack, giving more in both health and attack (not having mentioned Kasa Jizo’s ability). However, Kasa Jizo also has the massive damage ability, giving him 3 times the attack, making him very strong against both Angel and Black enemies. What saves Cameraman from being completely outclassed by Jizo’s normal form is his generally better survivability, both inside and outside his niche, due to his survive ability and the fact that it can be boosted by his talents. In this way, Cameraman trades off attack power against his niche for survivability. Moving on to their range, the range difference might not be noticeable, but it does help Jizo in the long run, being less likely to die off and allowing him to be stacked behind heavy meatshielding. This does increase his survivability slightly. Needless to say, Cameraman’s extra knockback gives him higher survivability than Jizo, and Jizo may not use his full 3 knock backs anyways, due to the unusually high damage output of both Black and Angel enemies compared to Floating enemies. Next, speed stats. Again, Cameraman’s lower speed gives him higher survivability, allowing him to be less likely to run into the ranges of enemies and getting hit, something Jizo is potentially likely to do. For DPS, we will talk about it along with TBA, as they go hand in hand. Jizo’s higher attack power, outside their niches, and his lower TBA gives him higher DPS, and this shows against his niche. In this field, Jizo gets the upper hand. Respawn times are exactly the same, so this makes them stackable, though Jizo might be slightly less stackable due to his slightly higher cost. However, in the long run, or in money-heavy stages, the spammability and stackability of both units should not vary by much.

Although we will not compare Jizo’s evolved and true forms against Cameraman, we will factor it into the methodology. One thing that Cameraman triumphs over all forms of Jizo is his survivability (against Normal Form Jizo) and spammability and stackability (against Evolved and True Form Jizos). For health, Jizo’s evolved form and true form triumph over Cameraman, and this cannot be refuted, except that those forms have low spammability and stackability. For attack damage, Jizo’s is way higher than Cameraman’s, but this is slightly hampered by his Multi-hit attack, which may cause him to miss the second-to-last, or even the last hit (way worse) against enemies with many knock backs or slower enemies. Range is nothing to sneeze at either, 485 being a high number. The place where he is slightly lacking is in his knock backs, having two knock backs which lowers his survivability. His DPS is quite a high number, making him effective against many angel enemies, most notably Winged Pigge since he outranges her.

Meatshielding is required for both Jizo and Cameraman to prevent them from being eliminated. They have good niche value, almost equal niche effectiveness (Cameraman having higher health for lower damage against his niche, Jizo having lower health for higher damage against his niche), and they perform well in their roles as well (Jizo a bit better as a midranger due to his higher range), this results in Cameraman and Jizo being equal. However Jizo does have way more usability due to the presence of decent evolved and true forms, which leads us to the conclusion that Jizo is better than Cameraman.

TL;DR[]

Jizo is better than Cameraman due to his higher usability in other forms.
