Vega, known as Balrog in Japan, is an Uber Rare Cat that can be unlocked by playing the Rare Cat Capsules during Street Fighter V Collaboration Event. He was added in version 10.0.

Strategy/Usage

Vega is an Uber Rare that freezes Metal enemies and sometimes delivers a Critical Hit. At first glance with his 100% freeze rate, 30% Critical chance and Long Distance ability, this unit may seem a very good anti-Metal cat but it's not quite the case. Simply put, Long Distance has the purpose of making units good against backliners like Master A. as it allows them to pierce beyond the enemy frontline. This is however useless for Vega because no Metal backliners exist, meaning that only the negative aspect of him having a blindspot remains. On the bright side, his high knockback count nullifies this a bit.

This also means that without the support of good crowd-controllers such as the drops from the Cyclone Stages, Vega will only be able to hit his targets at most a couple times before they get too close. Additionally, his critical hit rate of 30% is not high enough to be relied upon without adequate protection.

Outside of his Metal niche, Vega is barely usable but not recommended, as his awful DPS usually prevents him from being worth bringing along.
