Vermilingua Rangmaster (超舌獣ラングマスター, Chō Zetsujū Rangumasutā , Super Tongue-Beast Rangmaster) is an Aku/Behemoth variant of Master A. that appears in Legend Stages.
Enemy[]
This enemy is incredibly annoying. His DPS is pretty high for a midranger, and while his standing range is shorter than his other variants (300 vs 351-501), his Omni Strike reaches up to 350, meaning there aren't many Shield Piercing units that could actually hit him safely. His extreme durability is no laughing matter, having nearly 1 million base HP and a 400,000 HP Shield that regenerates by half each time he gets knocked back (effectively giving him up to another million HP). His immunity to waves and knockback aren't as concerning, but given he never appears alone, he can still prove to be a threat.
Strategy[]
Vermilingua Rangmaster has only 300 standing range, so ranged Shield Piercers like Summoner Satoru can get around his Shield easily, and a good-leveled Can Can can also easily land a hit on him. However, his Omni Strike means that melee attackers can be occasionally inconsistent. Along with the fact that he comes with lots of nasty support enemies adding to the frontline pressure, you may want to use tougher universal meatshields such as Stone Cat or Manic Eraser Cat or else he will surely advance to your base. As an Aku enemy, few options will work against him, more so if his Shield is up, and his company can easily tear apart any specialist you bring.
Apart from his Aku trait, Vermilingua Rangmaster is also a Behemoth enemy, so strong Behemoth Slayer Cats can also be options, since Behemoth Slayer vastly improves their endurance and most importantly damage output. Awakened Urs and Ape Lord Luza are particularly effective for their high standing range. Barrel Cat gets a notable mention, also having Behemoth Slayer and resistance to Aku which helps it to destroy Rangmaster's Shield very quickly.

Trivia[]
- Vermilingua means "worm tongue" and is the scientific name for anteaters.
- The "Rang" in Rangmaster's name comes from Rangurotora, the Japanese name of Monster Hunter's Volvidon, which shares Rangmaster's ears, eye color, carapace and long, powerful tongue. When Rangmaster attacks, his tongue is shown to crackle with electricity, which may be a reference to the Paralysis effect that Volvidon can inflict (in Monster Hunter and many other games, paralysis is represented by electricity).
- Aside from Volvidon, Rangmaster's design may have been inspired by pangolins, long-tongued armored mammals also known as scaly anteaters.
