Wyvern (Uber Rare Cat)

Wyvern is an Uber Rare Cat that was implemented in Version 2.2.9 and can be unlocked by playing the Rare Cat Capsule during the Merc Storia Collaboration Event. In Version 12.7, its True Form was added giving it improved health and additional abilities such as Weaken, Immune to Slow, and Colossus Slayer.

Strategy/Usage

This unit works in a similar way to Pizza Cat, with better stats in exchange for cost and recharge time. Overall, Wyvern can handle on its own more things than Pizza, but it can't be stacked or replaced easily despite having a below average cooldown time for an uber. For these reasons, this unit is not recommended in presence of Tackey or Kurosawah. Additionally, Pizza, despite his short range, still handles Black pushers just as fine and can be given a wave attack talent to hit enemies that both usually cannot. With low range and subpar stats as well, Wyvern is often left without a proper use, being outclassed even by Bahamut Cat (450 range) in that regard.

True Form

Wyvern's true form mainly addresses the issue of survivability by doubling his HP and a 50% chance to weaken all Black enemies in range. While the weaken is somewhat luck-dependent, the uptime is over 100%, which can be helpful with a decently fast attack rate. This, combined with the Massive Damage from earlier, lets Wyvern act as solid support against Black swarms by knocking them back with sheer damage and slowing their pushing power. However, his range of 370 limits him to melee enemies such as Gory Black and Dark Otter, as even his increased HP means little to the backliners still out-of-reach. Additionally, the luck-based weaken effect means that Wyvern can act as supplemental damage and CC to Black enemies, though his stats still relegate him to supporting other anti-Black attackers and crowd-controllers.

He also gains Colossus Slayer, which only really has an effect against Le'Grim. This stat increase against Colossus, alongside decently high HP and weaken effect, let him take some serious damage while dealing it back with the combined effects of Massive Damage and Colossus Slayer. The range disadvantage and luck-dependence are still issues, but they are not major issues since Le'Grim is already considered to be one of the easiest Colossal enemies anyhow.

Appearance

• Normal Form: A wyvern, a type of dragon with two legs and two wings. Also has a long spiny tail and bone-like protrusions near the back of his head.
• Evolved Form: Now in full color. Has a long, weirdly proportioned cat riding it.
• True Form: Same as Evolved Form but Alec is now riding on the front while the cat is riding on the rear.
